Q1 in Review: News from Aliant Offices Worldwide

As 2025 gets underway, Aliant offices across the globe have been growing, collaborating, and creating meaningful impact—both for clients and each other. From office moves to major client wins, cross-border teamwork to moments of celebration, here’s what Q1 looked like for our teams around the world.

Austria

Aliant Helml Rechtsanwälte

At Aliant Austria, we take our work seriously—but we also know the value of tradition and team spirit. This quarter, we celebrated Fasching, Austria’s beloved carnival season, with a Pancake Tuesday office celebration. It was a fun moment to step away from the legal briefs and enjoy some seasonal treats together. Events like this help us keep our culture vibrant and connected while staying focused on delivering top-tier service to our clients.

Finland

Aliant Finland

We started 2025 with a big move. On January 1, our office relocated to Keilaniemi—the heart of innovation and business in the Helsinki region. Surrounded by the headquarters of many international companies and next door to Aalto University, our new address places us right in the center of Finland’s science and economy ecosystem. It’s a strategic shift that reflects our ongoing commitment to staying close to where business and innovation happen.

Greece

S. N. Sagias and Partners Law Firm

This quarter has been a dynamic one for our team in Athens. We were thrilled to welcome a new associate, a talented attorney with a background in public law and a Master’s degree focused on international and European business transactions. Her expertise adds depth to our already diverse practice.

Our work in the Asian market continues to grow. We’ve welcomed clients and collaborators from India, Indonesia, and South Korea—advising on large-scale infrastructure and equipment investment projects that are shaping the future of Greece. These are the kinds of projects where the impact is tangible, and we’re proud to be part of the process.

We also had the opportunity to work alongside our Aliant colleagues in Cyprus on a fast-moving, complex case that spanned labor, tax, and corporate law. It’s always rewarding to see the Aliant network come together to solve big problems across jurisdictions.

Looking ahead, we’re focused on growing these international partnerships and deepening our impact with key global clients.

India

KrayMan Consultants LLP

It’s been a lively start to the year at KrayMan. In March, we welcomed a new team member, Sakshi Sain, as an Accounts Executive. And we’re looking forward to two more arrivals before the end of the quarter: a Senior Accounts Executive and a Company Secretary, each bringing years of experience in taxation, compliance, and corporate governance.

We also made time to celebrate. For Women’s Day, we transformed the office with color and creativity, paying tribute to the incredible women on our team. And for Holi, we went high-tech, with immersive VR and 3D gaming experiences that turned our celebration into something truly unforgettable.

On the operational side, we completed the first round of ISO certification and are now focused on tightening our internal systems to meet the highest international standards. Our goal? Full certification in Q2—another step toward delivering even more reliable, efficient service to our clients.

Hungary

Aliant-Menyhei-Molnár-B. Szabó Law Office

On March 21, our office participated in the STEP Hungary Conference on the Challenges of Wealth and Estate Planning in Uncertain Times, which brought together top experts from Hungary and Europe. The event featured valuable discussions, including two panels moderated by our managing partners.

Dr. Gabor B Szabo led a session on the growing importance of managing art collections within private wealth structures. The discussion covered the complexities of art valuation, origin, liquidity, and trustees’ responsibilities, offering international insights on best practices.

Dr. Ákos Menyhei moderated a panel on family governance and transgenerational wealth transfer. The discussion highlighted the importance of strong governance structures, legal enforceability of family constitutions, and the role of education in involving family members early in the process.

This event was an important opportunity to showcase our firm’s leadership in these critical areas of wealth planning. It reflects our office’s ongoing commitment to providing clients with expert advice in a rapidly changing global landscape.

Italy

Aliant Legal Grounds

This quarter, we launched something we’re truly excited about: a podcast.

Our new Spotify series, “Real Estate for Foreign People in Italy,”, hosted by Managing Partner, Claudia Bortolani and Partner, Eleonora Cerin, dives into real-life property cases and legal guidance for international clients looking to purchase in Italy. From navigating red tape in Rome to buying a dream home in Tuscany, each episode offers practical insights from the professionals who know the process inside out. A new episode is released every 15 days, beginning January 2.

Beyond the mic, we’ve also been out in the community. Partner, Elisa Noto, had the pleasure of leading a workshop at LUMSA University with students of Organizational Psychology—future HR professionals with a strong interest in workplace well-being. The session focused on how to legally address harassment and mobbing at work, with prevention as the central theme.

The most rewarding part? Engaging with bright, thoughtful students from around the world who are eager to help build safer, more respectful workplaces. It was a reminder that legal knowledge—when paired with empathy—can shape not just policies, but cultures.

Poland

Aliant Krzyżowska International Law Firm

Q1 was packed with proud moments for our team in Poland. One highlight was Managing Partner, Małgorzata Krzyżowska’s appointment to Poland’s Deregulation Team, working alongside national legal leaders to help simplify the regulatory environment for business. That same month, she was awarded the prestigious “Adwokatura Zasłużonym” badge by the Supreme Bar Council—an honor that reflects her long-standing commitment to legal excellence.

In January, we published an article on compliance best practices, sharing strategies and tools for navigating evolving regulatory landscapes. It’s part of our ongoing commitment to thought leadership in this space.

We also had the pleasure of collaborating with Aliant offices in Cyprus, the U.S., and Switzerland on client work—an ongoing reminder of how much stronger we are together.

And lastly, we had the opportunity to attend the inaugural Aliant+ Spring Conference in Oberlech, Austria, connecting in person with colleagues from across the globe.

Serbia

Dosen Accounting Firm

January is usually a whirlwind for accountants—but this year, we managed to carve out a moment to breathe. Just after the VAT submission deadline and before diving into the annual financial reporting marathon, our team boarded a flight from Belgrade to Nice for a quick but meaningful team-building trip.

Catching the early spring sun along the Côte d’Azur was exactly the reset we needed before buckling down to file 289 financial statements by March 31. A great adventure, and one that reminded us of the power of stepping away—if only for a moment.

Spain

Conesa Legal

Q1 has been all about movement—literal and legal. We wrapped up a major collective bargaining agreement for a 150-person automotive company, negotiating changes to employee bonuses and even rethinking the company canteen. It’s the kind of practical work that makes a big difference.

We also tackled a cross-border family law case, collaborating with a fellow Aliant lawyer in Mexico to craft a pre-nuptial agreement tailored to both legal systems.

On the real estate side, we helped a U.S. client finally close a long-stalled sale of a villa in Andalusia involving multiple sellers and historic liens. And thanks to an introduction from a colleague in Los Angeles, we assisted a U.S. fitness equipment brand in setting up a new European branch in Málaga. That company now plans to use Spain as its base to serve all of Europe—an exciting win for cross-office collaboration.

Building stronger relationships across our network isn’t just rewarding—it’s key to our success. The more connected we become, the more opportunities we create for collaboration, growth, and delivering exceptional service to our clients worldwide. So don’t hesitate—reach out, connect, and keep the conversations going.
