Collection of Personal Information

Website

Aliant+ may collect personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, firm or organization, and other information you voluntarily provide through email, contact forms, event registrations, membership inquiries, or similar forms.

When you visit our website, we may also automatically collect certain technical information, such as your IP address, referring website address, browser type, and domain information.

MyAliant+ Mobile Application

The MyAliant+ app is available to authorized Aliant+ members and requires an account to access its features.

Depending on how you use the app, we may collect the following information:

Contact information:
Your name, email address, and optional phone number.

Profile information:
Information you choose to include in your member profile, such as your job title, firm, practice areas, industries, interests, “About” information, LinkedIn URL, profile and cover photos, and location information you provide, including country, state, and city.

The app does not access or collect your device’s GPS location.

User-generated content:
Information you create, submit, or interact with through the app, including chat messages, deal information and file attachments, comments, likes, shares, event and conference RSVPs, group memberships, customer support requests, and abuse reports.

Search history:
Recent searches performed within the app.

Account and device identifiers:
Your user ID and push notification token, along with information such as your device platform and device name where necessary to provide notifications.

Technical and diagnostic information:
We may collect technical information used to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the app, including IP address, user agent, requested URL, response status, crash reports, error information, performance information, device model, operating system version, and app version.

The information described above is generally associated with your Aliant+ account where necessary to provide app functionality. The developers confirm that account, profile, content, search, and identifier information is linked to the user’s account.

How We Use Personal Information

Website

Aliant+ may use information submitted through our website to:

  • Respond to inquiries and requests
  • Process event registrations
  • Communicate with members and prospective members
  • Provide updates relating to events for which you have registered
  • Send relevant Aliant+ news, updates, events, and other communications
  • Maintain and improve our website and Services

We may use technical and non-personal information to understand website usage, maintain security, and improve the website experience.

MyAliant+ Mobile Application

Information collected through the app is used to provide and support app functionality, including:

  • Authenticating users and managing accounts
  • Creating and displaying member profiles
  • Facilitating networking and member directory functionality
  • Providing chat and other member-to-member communications
  • Enabling deal submissions and related file sharing
  • Managing events, conference RSVPs, and group participation
  • Delivering push notifications
  • Responding to customer support requests
  • Moderating content and responding to abuse reports
  • Maintaining the security and integrity of the app
  • Diagnosing errors, crashes, and performance issues

Information collected through the app is not used for third-party advertising or cross-app or cross-site tracking. The app does not currently include advertising or marketing analytics SDKs.

Third-Party Service Providers

Aliant+ uses third-party service providers to operate certain features of the MyAliant+ app. These providers process information on our behalf only as necessary to provide their respective services.

These currently include:

Clerk
Used for authentication and account access. Clerk may process your email address, name, Google or Apple sign-in identity, session information, IP address, and device information for authentication and security purposes.

Sentry
Used for crash reporting, application monitoring, and troubleshooting. Sentry may process crash reports, error stack traces, performance information, device model, operating system version, app version, and IP address.

Amazon Web Services (AWS), including Amazon S3
Used to provide infrastructure and file storage. User-uploaded photographs and deal attachments may be stored using Amazon S3 on our behalf.

Expo Push Service
Used to facilitate push notifications. Expo processes push notification tokens and notification content in order to deliver notifications.

Depending on your device, notifications may also be delivered using:

  • Apple Push Notification service (APNs) for Apple devices
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) for Android devices

These service providers have their own privacy and security practices governing their processing of information.

The developers’ app disclosure confirms these specific providers and the information each processes.

Tracking and Advertising

The MyAliant+ app does not use personal information for tracking.

App information is not linked with information obtained from third parties for advertising purposes, shared with data brokers, or used to track users across apps or websites.

The app does not currently integrate advertising SDKs or product analytics platforms such as Firebase Analytics or Mixpanel.

Aliant+ does not sell personal information collected through the MyAliant+ app.

Push Notifications

If you enable push notifications, the app will use a push notification token associated with your device to deliver notifications relating to app activity and functionality.

Push notifications may be delivered through Expo Push Service and, depending on your device, Apple Push Notification service or Firebase Cloud Messaging.

You may disable push notifications at any time through your device settings.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to collect certain information that may help us operate the website and improve your experience.

A cookie is a small text file stored on your device that may enable functionality or personalization features. You may decline or manage cookies through your browser settings.
